In assessing your potential for success at Geneva, academic capabilities, as well as involvement in church, school and community activities are considered. The application process is designed as a tool for making these assessments of each student. Each application is considered on an individual basis; so we encourage you to provide any additional information you feel would be useful as an admission decision is made. The following items must be submitted before an admission decision can be made:
Test Results. All applicants must turn in official results from at least one of the following tests: TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic, SAT, or ACT. International students who have a sufficient SAT or ACT score for admission are not required to turn in English language test results. International students whose first language is English are required to turn in an SAT or ACT score and will not be permitted to use a TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic score for admission.

Students whose first language is not English or who are not fully bilingual in English may be tested on their English proficiency upon entry into Geneva College. Should the instructor determine a need, students may be required to enroll in ESL classes in addition to their major requirements.
After all of the required documents are submitted alongside a fully completed application, an admission decision can be made. Admission decisions are typically decided within a week of your final document being submitted. Geneva College is certified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS’s) Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and is authorized under federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students. Assuming you have been accepted into Geneva College, you will need to follow these steps before arriving in the United States:
*Please keep in mind: Geneva College does not guarantee that you will be issued a student visa to study in the United States. Assuming required documents are submitted, we can only issue you a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) with which you can apply for the visa.
